Can I run applications off a portable hard dirve? Which portable hard drives should I buy? I want to run Dreamweaver, Net Objects Fusion or WebPage Maker from a portable hard drive.

*has enough space [this should not be a problem as you can get USB Sticks fairly cheap nowadays]
*can interface quickly [ you will want USB 2.0 for the fastest load times however the computer must have USB 2.0]

A good internal Hard drive for the PS3 would be any 2.5 inch SATA hard drive.

The brand name for the PS3's Internal Hard drive really doesn't matter, but personally I would go for a Seagate or Western Digital Internal Hard drive.

i have one of those Motorola DVRs that you can get with Comcast in my house. how do i transfer programs that i recorded to a portable harddrive using the usb port in the from, and play them back of a computer?

The USB is for "future use" and isn't activated.

You can do it with DVD Xpress.

With DVD Xpress you can transfer your video to your hard drive and then edit it if you desire. DVD Xpress comes with basic video editing software. I got mine at Sam's for $59.95. They are cheaper now. You can look at one & read about it here - http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-dvd-xpress.htm

I saw a newer model at WalMart recently. It was the DVD Xpress2. I canât remember what it cost.

You connect the composite output of your DVR into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable.
