This portable Seagate USB hard drive (for PC or Mac) gets good reviews from experts and even better reviews from owners who say it is both easy to use and reliable. The Seagate doesn't need a power cord -- it pulls all the power it needs from one or two USB ports. This model spins at 5,400 rpm, which means data transfers will not be as speedy as with a 7,200 rpm desktop drive. The Seagate hard drive is about 5" x 4" x 1" and weighs about 11 ounces, so it's easy to slip into a briefcase or backpack. The Seagate portable drive also comes in 40GB (*est. $100), 60GB (*est. $100), 80GB (*est. $115), 120GB (*est. $160) and 160GB *est. $235) capacities.

Answer
Have you been to the HP site and read the reviews?

Compatible? Only after you reformat it. The above link states "â¢Start backing up the minute you plug it in". That means it's format is NTFS, a Windows based file system.
