Q. Hi! im wanting to buy a portable HD/HQ video camera.
I don't know which ones are good, or not.
Do you know any under a 100,-
Don't suggest flip mino.. lol .. but something like it :)

my friend's got this and he seems to like it a lot, i've seen it and thought it looked a little awkward to hold but it's not actually :) less that £100 too so i guess this is a pretty good reccomendation :)

What computer model can handle the HD videos of an SLR camera?

At the moment I have a four-year old HP laptop, windows vista and it cannot handle the HD videos from my canon t3i digital SLR camera. Should I invest in a new computer or is there a way I can upgrade my HP to handle the videos?

A laptop is meant to be portable and a PC is meant to be powerful. While I have a laptop that I can use for editing photos(17.3" screen, 2.2GHz quad core CPU), I would not even try editing a video with it. Plus, as already stated, there is not a lot you can upgrade on a laptop.

My rule of thumb is...if your computer can't run BlackOps or GTA4 in high res/full detail without lags/bogging/glitches, then you will have issues editing a video.

I had some minor issues with my PC and wound up putting about $550 of upgrades in it ($250 video card, $125 sound card, $100 high speed RAM to go from 4Gb to 8Gb, and a 500watt powersupply for the video card). The system screams now...what used to take 1+hours to compile a video, now takes about 15-20minutes. (PLUS the games look sooo much better)

I understand buying a desktop computer would probably be the best choice for this, however, I would also love a portable workstation and that's why i'm considering a lab top. Are there any laptops available that can breeze through editing hd video? If so, how much? What specs should I be looking for in a laptop? Mac or PC? Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

You'd be looking at around $1000+ PC (or $2000+ on a comparable Mac lol)

Specs? Core i7 720 QM CPU, 4 GB of RAM (or higher if you want), and a decent video card, I'd say 9600m GT or better

What is the best affordable video camera?

I am really interested in making movies but I am having a hard time finding a good professional HD video camera for under 700 bucks. The camera must have a USB port and cannot operate on a tape. I'd like the camera to have at least a 50 time zoom, and be good for shooting movies and action films. Your help is greatly appreciated.

i have a canon rebel t3i and its a great camera! i think its about $600. it does HD video and still photography. lots of settings on it so you can control it well. lots of handy features if you plan on doing everything in manual mode.

some things do take some figuring out cause the manual that comes with it isn't that great at explaining. but its also small, so very portable. comes with a USB hookup or you can just use a card reader. recommend it as a cheap, portable, good quality camera.
