I was looking at some external hard drives and some of them say it doesn't come with backup software and some do. What is better??
IF it doesn't have software, like the one I found online, do I need to buy software??? Or can i just move files without the software??

I'm using it for backup purposes

You don't require any additional software to backup your data to an external hard drive..
You can just transfer it there...
