portable hard drive reformat image
dougie
I have this 10GB mkv file that Im trying to move to my portable hard drive - but it says file size too large for destination. The portable hard drive has over 100GB of space. Why cant I move it or rather how do I move it?
Answer
It may be formatted as FAT32. If you have no files on the drive, reformat it as NTFS. If it has files on it
Go to a Command Prompt:
at the prompt type ---->
convert x: /fs:ntfs /nosecurity
where x: is the drive of your external hard disk.

How do I connect my Samsung portable hard drive to Sync in my car after reformatting it?
Johnny
I reformatted my hard drive because it was starting to spaz out a little, but my car doesn't recognize it anymore when I put it in the USB port. I use it for playing mp3's in the car. What do I do? Maybe I reformatted it incorrectly because that is the first time I've reformatted something since the floppy days.
Answer
needs to be a fat32 format. default formatting for hard drives is NTFS on windows 2000 or later.
