MiniMax™ Desktop Hard Drive Question? PLEASE HELP!!?

Ok, I bought a 640GB MiniMax⢠Desktop Hard Drive for the reason that I don't have enough memory on my computer and I need a place to put my 125GB's of movies. I want to know if i can bring this Hard Drive to my friend's house to give him some movies, or will it only work with my computer? Also, what is the difference between a "Portable Hard Drive" and a "Desktop Hard Drive"

Also, I have a Laptop connected to a docking station which i use most of the time - except for when i go to a friends house then i take it as a laptop.. what would happen then?

iomega minimax IS a portable USB hard drive. You can use it for any computer. It's really bulky and is not really made to be "mobile". But you can definitely use it for what you are planning to do.

I don't understand the laptop question.

both are great. no hard drive is 100% - i would have your data in atleast two places so when a hard drive fails, which they do fail eventually, you still have the data. that is when you know to get a new hard drive, so you always have your data in two places.
