portable external hard drives image

I am looking for a portable external hard drive that is between 500GB and 1TB (depends on the price). I plan on storing pictures and music along with some document and possibly back up my laptop as well. I want to know what are the best brands and models for what I need. I think I have narrowed it down to Seagate and Western Digital.
Answer

Answer
I like the Western Digital Passport drives - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/external/portable/
I've got two of them a 500Gb and a 1Tb. I've had them just over a year and used them on multiple computers at work and at home with no problems.
