Will this work with the usb port in a 2012 Dodge Charger?

I recently purchased a 2012 Dodge Charger and it has a USB port that I can plug a thumb drive into with music on it. I was wondering if a Western Digital - My Passport Essential 500GB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive model number WDBACY5000ABK-NESN would work the same way? How much would heat/cold affect it if I left it in the car 24/7? What other concerns should I have with doing this?

Okay so I'm going into 9th grade and I am finally getting my own laptop. My parents are being nice and letting me get a mac. This laptop that I chose will have to last at least 4 years or through high school. I'm thinking about getting the MacBook Pro standard model non retina or the newly updated MacBook Air 13.3 inch model with 256gbs of memory. I am also getting a disc drive if I get the MacBook Air. I will bring it back and forth to school like 2 times a week. What's your opinion? I will probably get an external harddrive or flash drive to store the games sims 3 and minecraft and other things.

What I will use it for: iTunes, YouTube, Netflix, shopping online, writing papers, projects for school, a little sims 3 and minecraft, Internet surfing, simple photo editing, simple moviemaking, garage band voice recording, watching DVD and burning CDs!

Definitely the Air. Air's are more portable, but still have a lot of power. I have a macbook pro. It's really heavy, and i almost never use 100% of the cpu. The hard drive, which probably accounts for 30% of the weight is nowhere near full. With the Air they put SSD's in them, which are lighter and MUCH faster. The air will also get you much better battery life. If you're going to buy it off the internet, i would upgrade the processor to the next one up, if you can.
