portable hard drive problems image

I recently bought GTA :San Andreas and want to install it onto my portable hard drive. The problem is that I move the hard drive around and the computers that I use assign different letters to the drive. Because of this, I don't think that the game will work on those computers. Is there a way of removing all the drive references and replace them with the names of the current computer? If not, I will return it (unopened) and buy something else.

Open Device Manager, click on the plus sign, next to the driver, and then open the properties, and click on the "settings" tab, go down and set the driver to the letter you want. That is what I did with my Flashdrive.

How to consolidate thousands of digital pictures?
I want to copy all of my photos onto a portable hard drive. My problem is I have thousands of images scattered onto dozens of CD-R, DVD-R, USB thumb drives, and memory cards. If I simply copy everything over, I'm going to end up with a lot of duplicates of the same photos. Without manually sifting through the mess I've created is there a program I can download that will search for duplicates and prompt me to delete them?

Those of us who shoot in RAW and process all the images in Lightroom can even add key words to each batch which can be searched for later.
For now you are going to want to set up file folders for each year and subdirectory file folders for each month. The copy the image files from each thumb drive, CD, DVD and old external drives to those folders.
That will get you started. Later you can go through each file folder by month and make additional file folders by specific date and subject.
This staged approach should keep you from going "coo-coo" during your organization (not consolidation since that is what you have now on each device.
