Xbox 360 bf4 hard drive required?

So I bought a used copy of battlefield 4 on the 360 yesterday at gamestop. When I got home,that night I tried to do the 2GB install into a flash drive and it wouldn't let me,it has to be a hard drive. So is there any way possible to install it onto a flash drive or the 4Gb memory? And I found this old HP Simplesave portable hard drive that connects via USB,will this work?

It has to be an actual internal hard drive. USB drives will not work.

Can you use a regular portable computer hard drive for the Xbox 360?

well in theory yes because thats all the hdd is for the 360 but no because you have to have the adapter part for it to connect to the 360 and you have to have the software already on the harddrive or it wont work with the 360 its better to just suck it up and buy a hdd
