Are these External Hard Drives Good? 10 points for nearest answer?

I know nothing about External HDD and im wondering out of these two Hard Drives are good.

I don't want to know the memory sizes holding more stuff, i know the first link is 500gb i just need a comparison of specifications from both if possible. 10 Points will be rewarded to the Answerer of the question if helpful.

the first one (the one i would choose)
it carries a standard desktop hard drive therefor is a larger unit
speed difference it's slower, but unnoticeable but is less portable
external power supply allowing better speeds when connected to less powerful systems

the second one carries a laptop hard drive and therefor is smaller and more portable
and if carried is more likely to get dropped
gets power from system through usb port making it slower on less powerful systems
