I use a Samsung G2 Portable External Hard Drive that I use to mostly store films and series, and until yesterday, I've never had any problems with it. However, yesterday half of the files randomly went missing, but when I connected my hard drive with the TV (through a USB portal) all the files were still there and I was able to watch everything - no problem.

I've already checked if the files randomly turned into hidden files, but they didn't. They just seem to disappear on my pc? Help?

Note: I use Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio.

Seagate 1TB Expansion Hard Drive & Xbox 360?

Lanabee

Hey guys,
I bought a Seagate 1TB Expansion Portable Drive the other day because it has more space than my current Samsung G2 Portable 640GB. The Samsung works perfectly with my Xbox 360, streaming music/movies from it just by plugging it into the USB port in the front on the Xbox. It is FAT32.
Now, the Seagate 1TB is showing up in my control panel>disk management as a FAT32 system as well so I'm a bit confused as to why it isn't working?
I've read heaps of forums, and none of the suggestions people have posted have worked.
I don't need to reformat the Seagate because it is already a FAT32 system and is also the primary system and there don't seem to be any others present.

Looking at both the hard drives I've listed above on my computer, they both look the same, same type of system and all, just that extra storage space is all.

So why won't my Xbox recognize my new Seagate hard drive?

Answer
Seagate firmware which caused the drive to lock up and fail to be detected by the BIOS in Xbox 360. You should not use Seagate for Xbox 360. The good hard drives for Xbox 360 are Western Digital or Samsung .
