HELLO I HAVE Verbatim 320GB USB Portable Hard Drive...
when i connect it in my 32 bit vista pc it does not be recognized by pc.
However when i put my ubuntu 6.04 live cd in the pc it can be recognized by my pc.

Answer
Vista will not connect to your usb drive but the ubuntu liv-cd will?

Try this: Go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management >Storage >Disk Management > locate external your usb drive. If there is a conflict with the letters assigned to the drives, change the usb drive letter to a much lower letter, e.g. H or U.

[External Hard Drive] My computer does not recognize, why is that?

I purchased Verbatim's external hard drive. (320GB)

In the user guide, it says "Installing your portable hard drive is very simple. Just use the included mini-USB cable to connect your hard drive to any free USB port on your computer."

So I connected my computer's USB port and the hard drive. The external hard drive has this blue light blinking. However on my computer, nothing says...

I tried with other computers and it won't say anything.

How can I fix this??

Answer
It needs to install the drivers for the hard drive. You can try leaving it plugged in and restart your computer
