What USB hard drive should I get and how can I connect it to a TV?

I was thinking about getting a portable USB hard drive and wanted to know what a good one was. This hard drive doesn't have to be special all I will be putting on it is movies and music. Also I wanted to be able to hook up the hard drive to my TV to watch movies or listen to music what will I need to do this.

Could I use a portable hard drive in place of ram somehow?

My computer has very little ram and I don't have 200 - 300 dollars for a new ram card(s). Is there any way to use portable hard drives or usb drives in place of the ram card(s)?

Nope, but Vista and Windows 7 can do it using a flash drive. I think it kills the life of the flash drive overall so I would not recommend using the flash drive for any other purposes.

Also you must be getting ripped off by Best Buy or something. Check out newegg.com or amazon.com and find some nice RAM for about $100 or less.
