Q. I am looking for small & inexpensive external hard drives to share a 120 GB video file. It has to be able to work on a Mac or PC.

The smallest I could find was about 250 GB for $45, but if there is something smaller and less expensive, do tell! (I need several to be able to share the 110 GB short film with a number of users.)

is it possible to give an external hard drive media player function?

Lynda G

So I have a 1TB hard drive its prob one of the first models as it is quiet big and requires its own power supply to run :'(

So is it possible to give it media player functions?
As it is a pain to hook it up to the laptop and then the lappy to the tv in order to watch stuff.

Thanks :)

Answer
Hi..

Here is a cheap media player for you , but it connects direct to the TV...
No need for the laptop go between..
As your external hard drive is not a portable one (USB powered) will still need to hook it up to a power supply.

Compatible with hard drives up to 1.5TB ...
Just use the usb cable you normally use to connect the drive to your laptop...
