I ordered a portable hard drive for windows instead of mac..?

I have a macbook and I was wondering if there was anyway I could change the platform from "Windows Vista" to Macintosh instead because I'm not able to return it.

Go into Applications/Utilities/Disk Manager and selected that drive and partition and format it to Mac format.

I purchased a Toshiba portable hard drive ( 500 Gb ). It stated that it was apple compatible, but every time I try to open it on my mac, it launches Windows in my VMware. When I install the software on Windows, it practically crashed my computer. It took me an hour to delete that horrible software.

Is there any way to re-format the drive so that I can use it as portable hard drive on Apple and not be force to use the trashy software?

Sure. Open Disk Utility and do a clean wipe of the whole drive. Not just the partition, the whole thing. Reformat it HFS+.

Don't you hate that crapware? It's so horrible.
