looking for a portable hard drive that works seamlessly between mac/pc. I work on both.?

Answer
Pretty much any USB portable hard drive that is Plug-and-Play Compliant will work on both Macs and PCs, providing you use a file system that works on both. NTFS is the standard for PCs, but Macs can only read files in that file system, not write them. A file system that will work with both Macs and PCs is FAT32. You can format your hard drive to FAT32 using Windows, just google it. A recommended hard drive for you is this one:

How do I transfer my iTunes from my PC to my Mac via a portable hard drive?

I'm not the most computer savvy person, so I'd really appreciate specific details on how to do this. Thank you so much in advance!

Answer
I'm not nearly as experienced with PC's as with Macs, so here goes. I'm going to assume that you have copied at least some files from your PC onto a portable hard drive, but if not then try this. First make sure that the external hard drive is connected and recognized on the PC. Do a search if necessary and find the iTunes music folder on your PC hard drive. Once you have done that select the iTunes music folder and either choose to move it, save it, or copy it to the external hard drive or as can be done easily on a Mac click it and drag it to the external hard drive to copy it there. Once that is complete you can then properly eject the external hard drive from the PC and connect it to your Mac. When you do and it shows up on the Mac desktop simply open iTunes and choose "Add to library" under "File" in the menubar in iTunes and in the window that opens navigate to the external hard drive and to the folder labeled "iTunes Music." Then click okay/import and iTunes will find all of the music files on the external drive and copy them to the proper location on you Mac hard drive. Then you are finished and you can do whatever you like with the music on the external hard drive. You may even select the iTunes folder on the external hard drive and drag it to the Mac trash and empty the trash.
