What is the best portable external hard drive?

I am looking for a portable external hard drive that is between 500GB and 1TB (depends on the price). I plan on storing pictures and music along with some document and possibly back up my laptop as well. I want to know what are the best brands and models for what I need. I think I have narrowed it down to Seagate and Western Digital.

i have been using portable drives for quite a few years and have a few of them all western digital the best one i would say would be

it has a 3.0 USB which is a lot faster and its a good price for 1 TB

I know it doesn't say it's portable but in the pictures it looks small. Will I be able to use it in multiple computers?

yes it is portable but what people are forgetting to mention is that since it is 2TB not only do you need to plug it in to a usb port you also need an electrical outlet to supply it with enough power to turn on. and yes you can use it with as many computers as you want just simply plug and play
